A FEW WORDS OF INTRODUCTION
The Benissa local area. Because we are situated slightly away from the coast many of the local restaurants are truly Spanish in character. Some are established businesses that have been run by the same family for generations. Many serve meals that can only be described as Spanish and Valencian recopies at their very best. “Gourmet”.
The Coast. (Moraira/Calpe/Javea) Fifteen minutes away you enter an entirely different culinary world. With the emphasis on “International” food. You will find every conceivable taste catered for. Truly Spanish restaurants are hard to find!
So…Let us start with Restaurant “Casa Canto”!
Probably the best “quality” restaurant in the whole area!
Park your car as above and go up the hill about 50 meters from the petrol station. Again on the left hand side of the road (going up) You will see the “Casa Canto” sign in big stainless steel letters.
If you draw-up in front of the restaurant they will even park the car for you in their private car-park. Valet Service!

Restaurante “Casa Eusebio”
2.7 Km – 5 mins drive door to door
Drive towards Benissa. At the first roundabout turn left up the hill. Keep going until you see a small petrol station to your right (just over 1 Km) Park.
On the left hand side of the road going up the hill and slightly before the petrol station is the original “Casa Eusebio”
You enter via a highly recommended TAPAS bar. Just sit at the bar order a glass or two of wine and chose from a large variety of excellent tapas. Be warned….if you are very hungry when you go in this approach can be expensive (by Spanish standards)
OR you can pass through the tapas bar down into their very good restaurant.
A-la- carte or “Menu” you will not be disappointed. (20-40 euros per head everything included)

Directions
Drive towards Benissa. At the first roundabout turn right. Straight across next roundabout. Down the long hill and turn right at big roundabout direction “Moraira/Teulada”. Cross three more roundabouts in quick succession, direction “Teulada”. 100 meters after you reach the built-up part of Teulada park the car. Restaurant “Bar Mediterraneo” is on your right.
Very typical Spanish bar ambience. Talking cigarette machine, Football on the TV, Payphone on the bar, etc
For 10 Euros will get you the “Menu”. Everything included. You will not go away hungry!
Salad, Bread, Alioli, Starters, Main Course, Desert, Wine and a free drink!
The leg of lamb (cordero) is highly recommended.
There is also an a-la-carte menu, but most people go for the daily “MENU”

Absolutely superb Spanish/Velencian Food and Ambience
Reasonably expensive
10 Km – 20 mins drive door to door
Drive towards Benissa. At the first roundabout turn right. Straight across the next roundabout.
At the next roundabout turn right direction “Moraira/Teulada”. Cross three more roundabouts in quick succession, direction “Teulada”
Drive to the top of the dual carriageway. Take second turning direction Benitachell. Drive through this village and just keep heading for Javea. Five mins later you will see the restaurant on your right hand side.

THE RICH HOUSE ! CHINESE - CALPE
In our humble opinion, simply
“The best Chinese / Thai / Japanese food on the Costa Blanca!”
You can go for a 4.50 euro basic menu, a typical 9.95 euro “family meal” or the highly recommended 14.95 euro set menu. (price per person).
There is also an extensive a-la-carte menu to suit all tastes, from raw fish to chicken & chips.
To get there.
10 mins drive (with a following wind) 15 mins on the way back!
Re-set the tachometer on your car
Down our drive then turn left and then left again straight away.
At 0.5 Km you will join the main road (keep to the right)
Stay on this road until 2 Km when you see a sign to beaches etc straight on and Pedramala turn right.
Turn right direction Pedramala.
At 7 Km comes the only tricky part. The main road bears to the right but you have to go straight on. There is a bold “30” sign between the two roads…..you go to the left of this sign.
Across one roundabout and then another. Then at 9.5 km, when you are approaching Calpe turn left at the (mini) roundabout. Three hundred yards later there is a right turn, take it and then park.
The restaurant is on your left above “Casa”
Your car Tachometer should be showing 10 Km.
And you should be hungry
Or failing that Very Hungry
ITALIAN – THE BEST AROUND
“La Polenta”………
Same directions as “The Mediterraneo” above but on the other side of the road.
Superb.
In the summer try to get a table in the courtyard at the back.
